75th Anniversary Celebration Events

Study Days to feature Sherry Weddell

As a part of the festivities for the 75th Anniversary, the diocese will once again hold its annual Spring Study Days, which is an opportunity for those in the diocese to gather for learning, fellowship and prayer. This year’s Study Days will be held Monday, May 8 through Wednesday, May 10 at St. Joseph Parish in Pueblo. This year’s speaker will be Sherry Weddell, author of Forming Intentional Disciples: The Path to Knowing and Following Jesus.

Each year Study Days provides clergy, staff and parishioners from throughout the diocese with the opportunity to spend a few days together. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and connect with old. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. This is open to everyone in the diocese and is not limited to only staff.

In addition to her well-known book, Sherry Weddell is the editor of and a contributor to Becoming a Parish of Intentional Disciples (2015). She created the Called & Gifted discernment process in 1993, the first gifts discernment program designed especially for Catholics. In the years since then, she has helped tens of thousands of Catholics around the world discern their charisms and has trained thousands of pastoral leaders to facilitate discernment. Sherry co-founded the Catherine of Siena Institute in 1997 with Fr. Michael Sweeney, OP.
Sherry currently leads CSI’s international network of traveling teachers and regional collaborators. The Institute team has trained thousands of parish and diocesan leaders at all levels to effectively call Catholics to begin consciously following Jesus as his disciples in the midst of his Church, and how to create a normative culture of intentional discipleship at the parish level.

Sherry and her collaborators have worked directly with over 100,000 Catholics in well over 500 parishes in 152 dioceses and 11 countries on 5 continents. Sherry has spoken in hundreds of parishes, conferences, diocesan leadership gatherings, clergy convocations, gatherings of religious, and seminarians.

The prices for study days will be roughly what they were last year. More information, registration materials and online registration can be found on the diocesan website at: www.dioceseofpueblo.org/study-days-2017. Also as a part of the diocese’s 75th anniversary celebration, Sherry Weddell’s book has been purchased by a donor for everyone who registers for the event. These can be picked up at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Pueblo.
