Sister Carol Tlach, ND 50th jubilee

Sister Carol Tlach, ND celebrated her 50th Jubilee of religious profession with the Notre Dame Sisters on July 23, in Omaha, Neb. Elementary education and care for senior citizens have filled Sister Carol’s 50 years of ministry. She received a bachelor’s degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Afterward, she taught at St. Adalbert in Omaha from 1966 to 1968 and at St. Wenceslaus in Dodge, Neb. from 1985 to 1986. From 1986 to 1992 Sister Carol taught at St. Mary in Walsenburg. Since 1993, she has coordinated the St. Mary Senior Citizen Outreach Program in Walsenburg, providing transportation and assistance with daily needs for the seniors in the area. This is a valued ministry for the seniors in the Walsenburg area.

Please join the Spanish Peaks Catholic Community as they celebrate Sr. Carol Tlach’s 50 years as a sister of Notre Dame on Sunday, September 17, on the church lawn, following the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Church, Our Lady of Sorrows in Walsenburg. The Knights of Columbus 2139 will grill hot dogs and hamburgers, so attendees are invited to bring a side dish or drinks. Help us celebrate this wonderful woman in our community.
