St. Pius to hold Lenten film retreat

By Ellen Cummings
Sister Rose Pacatte, FSP, a national speaker and recognized expert on faith and the media, will present a four-session Lenten retreat at St. Pius X parish in Pueblo March 3 to 6. This retreat is based on the film The Way starring Martin Sheen. This film is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges all face in an ever-changing and complicated world.

The retreat is offered to all in the Diocese of Pueblo. There will be a fee of $30 to cover the cost of materials (the Pilgrim’s Bag is a $28 value) and meals. Advance registration and payment is required by February 21 to ensure that each attendee will receive a “Pilgrims Bag.” For further information contact Pat Montelongo at St. Pius X Parish, (719) 542-4264 or email

Sister Rose Pacatte writes for The National Catholic Reporter and The St. Anthony Messenger. She has presented at conferences from Toronto to Oxford to Johannesburg. Some of the topics of her talks include: “Meeting Jesus at the Movies” and “Media and the Moral Imagination.”
