Today concluded the 2020 Ad Limina Visit for the bishops of Region XIII. It was very appropriate that the final Mass of the week was celebrated at Saint John Lateran.
The Region XIII Ad Limina continued today with the much-anticipated visit to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, or as the Italians call it Santa Maria Maggiore.
While there was much anticipation around the release of Pope Francis’s post-Amazon Synod exhortation and the Holy Father’s Wednesday General Audience, these did not take away the attention of Bishop Berg and the other bishops from their meetings at the Congregations and the celebration of the Mass at Saint Paul Outside the Walls.
In light of these celebrations, the Holy See celebrates a holiday today. This provided Bishop Berg with the opportunity to take advantage of spiritual opportunities around Rome and to visit with local reporters about his time with Pope Francis and the bishops of Region XIII, his vocation story, family life, and the work taking place in Colorado and the Diocese of Pueblo.
The Ad Limina for Bishop Berg and the bishops of Region XIII (Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Wyoming) officially began today.
